Tanker pilotage & mooring

High-precision work

Ensuring the continuity of operations safely

Since our inception in 1989 and the expansion of STAPEM Offshore to include Marine services, we’ve consistently provided our clients with personnel responsible for the mooring of tankers, including VLCCs, Suez Max, etc. Our team comprises experienced Unlimited Masters who have transitioned to Marine Pilotage, as well as seasoned marine officers and versatile diving seamen trained in tanker mooring to CALM buoys or Tandem mooring operations.

The pilot manages the approach and mooring operation. To ensure this operation is carried out safely and efficiently, there is a close collaboration between the tug(s), the on-deck mooring team assisting the Tanker Crew, the workboat crew, and the floating unit, either FSO or FPSO.

The pilot and the mooring master stay on the tanker to supervise the crew and ensure safety and good coordination with the marine team of the floating unit, who are responsible for offloading.

Our network of skilled staff has consistently proven its reliability, ensuring our clients have successful and safe tanker lifting operations in the offshore environment.

Some of the typical roles filled by the personnel at STAPEM Offshore include:

• Mooring/Berthing Master
• Mooring Master assistant
• Pilot
• Polyvalent Diving Seaman
• Rapid Rescue Vessels Pilot
• Senior Pilot
• Vessel Master
• Workboat Coxswain

Our network of qualified staff has and will continue to offer a proven reliability
